Due to my family influence growing up I have seen how different strategies work. Prayer is always a good choice when feeling stressed out God hears our prayers, each one of them. Answering them, however, is done in His timing. Busy work is another way I like to have a purpose; clean my room wash dishes even cook food or bake desserts. Now if food is addictive that may not be a good strategy unless you have others to share them with.
My hobbies listening to 93.3 can lighten my mood as well. Singing praises to God is a way of connecting to my maker and I have always heard that you can only feel one way or another happy or angry. Singing makes me happy and singing to God gives me the uplift to make it through the next hour or next day. Sometimes it takes scripture almost anything in the Psalms can be uplifting. The Bible was made for such times in our life and our day when we need Christ’s guidance most within the day.
Cross-stitch also makes me think of God’s creation. He spoke and the world was created. He made Adam from the dust and then took a rib from him to make Eve. God is the God of the impossible; sometimes being reminded of that thought is marvelous to think about. Even my needle and thread can make a blank slate turn into a beautiful image when done right to use for decoration or for different purposes a towel, tote bag, pillow or blanket.
The key to negative feelings is having not just an outlet to blow steam off or vent it’s knowing that you have someone to talk to no matter what. Christ can be your outlet; if you let Him. He wants you to know Him better in doing so these feelings could balance out if you are truthful with Him.
