Julius Caesar, The Emperor of Rome
Sometimes I don’t know what photos on this platform are accurate versions for Julius Caesar. All I know is this looks like it’s from the same time period. Maybe it could be Mark Antony if not Caesar or perhaps Gaius or Brutus although they would not have the crown atop their heads as Senators would they!

We went through this in High School, I remember having to read bits and excerpts. In college, I took some general studies classes that included Literature of European works. Not exactly everyone’s cup of tea to read through. However, I was a Social Studies major and not only did I enjoy learning Ancient Egyptian mythology I was intrigued by this Greek mythology and how on earth they could attribute life to these horror stories.
They could never live up to the Bible in my opinion. The unwavering 100% prophetic accuracy is tough to top among any of the Roman, Greek and Egyptian gods that have toppled from grace so to speak. Yet here we are centuries later on the Ides of March when in 44 BC those closest to Caesar killed him.
Trust. Power. Greed. Turn friendships into formidable opponents. Caesar never saw it coming from his best friends. The word ‘Ides’ means to divide; it is Latin, from the Almanac. The Senators Cassius and Brutus betrayed this dictator saying it would be better for Rome if he was gone. Therefore leaving us with the infamous saying, the ides of March.
This is where knowing history can bring it to life on days filled with intriguing stories. There used to be a man, a privileged man, who roamed during Biblical time as a somewhat egotistical man. One who had power, wealth and high esteem. Even the Queen of Egypt, Cleopatra consorted with the man. These were intriguing times to see such gaudiness of contemptuous lovers and enemies betray the other before they could be betrayed.
Yet where does their soul lie now? Were their decisions worth the efforts they made to show off their wealth and prestige? Could they have altered what had happened that day, March 15th, 2000 plus years ago? Or was it just destined to be? Destined means not having God as a guiding force in your life doesn’t it.
