Standing Up

It’s difficult for me to stay out of politics anymore. I did when I knew I heard a still small voice in the back of my head and I thought no way I could do that. I was wrong, maybe dead wrong. We have to be diligent to listen to God’s voice when He urges us to do so it’s when we don’t that others have to do the tasks God had planned for us specifically. Thank about that for a minute.

Arlington Cemetery. Have you been there? I have and it was a day I will never forget for two big reasons. I will start with the second because both are extremely emotional, but the second reason doesn’t bring me to tears as easily as the first does. Walking from the subway to the Welcome Center and it took my breath away from me. I was literally on sacred ground as we walked around all of the monuments even the Kennedy Family and the eternal flame. I had freshly graduated from High School, this was the trip I couldn’t go on during school but got to take right before starting college.

Only God knows for certain, but His 38,000 view in hindsight shows us things we can’t see when we are in the middle of these events. I also remember we were there as they were working on the World War II Memorial… still a ways from being finished though it was 2003. My heart was in my throat all day long though because of what happened before we got on the subway.

Just thinking about this brings on the threat of tears descending my entire face and not being able to think or type straight. Grandpa Freddy called me first before Mom or Dad to tell me his oldest granddaughter, my cousin Anna had been in a horrible accident. He thought it would be better this way for Mom, I don’t think he realized how much of a toll that would take on me though. I couldn’t hear him really well and then I had to tell my parents I didn’t do very well at all and ended up sobbing while trying to. Of all the days to get this news and be at a cemetery added to the emotion of being in this massively patriotic, christian and historical location.

My cousin and her boyfriend were on his bicycle a woman pulled out in front of them without seeing them they were thrown from the bike. Anna was thrown 20 feet and was the worst of the two she was immediately sent to Evansville while he was sent in another direction. On the way back from our vacation we stopped in Evansville to see her and that image is still lodged in my memory.

One never knows the impact they have in another’s life until they just stand up and do what God whispers to them through the Holy Spirit. She was given a second chance the Lord was watching over her, both of them. Yet as I stood walking through Arlington Cemetery with that knowledge as a historian in the making and as a Christian woman it was overwhelming and difficult to digest what we were seeing and had been told about my cousin.

This is also why I have worked on two blogs at different times I have also had time to marinate and mature on experiences God gave me through the years. I have a knowledge I didn’t have that day on so many levels growing with each one and adapting it all together.

Donald Trump is our nominee and now we have to work to and unite a coalition to take back this nation. The RNC has also had some changes that were long necessary if you ask me. Gonna McDaniel is out and Michael Whatley is in and so is Lara Trump as co-chairs of the RNC. Unlike the Democrats we like law and order our Election Day is one day right? Well we have to reconfigure that idea right now. If we want Trump as our President once again we have to play by the Democrats rules only better and legally. This means we have to do the mail-in ballots whether we like it or not. Yes we all know this invites fraud, but we have to make it safer to do so at least now until we can rehaul our election day methods through Congress of which the House has done. It’s waiting on the Senate that will not do a thing while it’s controlled by the Democrats.

Lara Trump being a co-chair is exciting because she is on fire and knows what needs to be done. I believe having her at the helm is the right thing going forward to the election. We have to support her and our candidate and do what is needed to be done as well. We have to stand up as Senator Katie said last night. Watch her rebuttal it was really well done.

What will it take for you to stand up? Has something been repetitively coming into your mind? Why do you think that is happening?
