Today is a historic day it only took what… 3 votes to get here. The second cabinet Secretary of Homeland has been Impeached by the House. It was 1876 when this happened the first time. Yet what will this actually do?
Representative Kat Cammack told Harris Faulkner that Secretary Mayorkas said and I am paraphrasing you won’t like who comes next, that is if he was to be impeached or fired.
Unfortunately last week we were missing a Republican and a Democrat came back sooner than expected after surgery. Funny how the details can screw up a vote. This week Rep Steve Scalise made a point to come back from his blood cancer treatments to vote this evening. His vote put the Republicans over the threshold to pass the measure.
Another development this evening is who will fill George Santos vacant seat? The answer should come either tonight or tomorrow depending on how things go. The Democratic seat was flipped when Santos won. It will be intriguing to see who wins his spot. Will crime drive the voters to Mazi Pilip or will women’s rights drive them to Former Rep Tom Suozzi?
Good luckand God Bless Mazi Pilip!
