Customer Service

Today has been a grand day. I was able to finally put aside my stress, fear and worry from the day I got this letter in the mail. Three agents really customer service advocates later my case or account is resolved.

When I initially called I got a male voice who then transferred me to this other agent who did help me. He, I guess would have been the first agent of 4 then by that count. He was very understanding and helped me along towards the actual lady who could help me. This transfer went well she calmed my nerves and gave me hope that all would be well.

Days later after doing what she told me to do I was to call back. So my first call was Tuesday I sent the paperwork they needed that day and it got there on Wednesday. We no longer have a fax machine. Someone was told that fax machines were becoming obsolete. Apparently that rumor hadn’t reached these ladies. I called back on Friday morning nothing had been done and all of my stress came back at once. This second lady gave me whiplash.

She left me feeling anything but fine about the process going through okay. Maybe I was paranoid and nervous because of the predicament, but she wasn’t nearly as compassionate as the first couple of people I talked with.

So as you can imagine trying to make sure I get with the right person on the other line was imperative. God heard my prayers and gave me an angel this morning. Not only did she show compassion like the first two she was easy to listen to I heard her name well enough to remember and she took my phone number to get a hold of me later.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t relish making these phone calls when I don’t understand all the inner workings of everything. Plus automated calls are frustrating. The one thing I can say for sure is that it took less than a minute to hear a voice. They said waiting time is 30 seconds as soon as they said that a voice person was on the line with me.

During the process for applying for jobs I have taken the assessment for customer service. The Indeed website actually said I was proficient. During my time at Wal-Mart and working as an assistant within my college years I got fairly good at taking care of customers and doing what my supervisors wanted done to their liking in each different office. I would even get Patty’s stuff done that she thought would keep me busy for a whole week in sometimes one day.

She told me I wasn’t like some of the other girls playing and texting on their phones at work. I was actually there to work. I did a lot of typing for her and I usually always enjoy typing so it suited me fine. Goodness… this brings back wonderful memories of friends and such a different time in my life. College was an amazing experience I get to meet new people and learn to have amazing conversations with people that also served me well in customer service as a cashier.
