Sundays & Windy Days

Not as cold as the previous couple of Sundays thankfully, yesterday was a much more comfortable day. After three missed Sunday School classes I finally made it for the 4th. Although I did get a shellacking from my niece an hour later. I noticed at least 3 texts and a missed call. I did send her a message that I was heading to Church, but didn’t hear anything so that was why I was able to attend Sunday School.

It was good to hear my cousin speak again. I only wish she had been with me next time I will make more effort to wake her up earlier if it can be done. It’s nice to see she’s wanting to go with me again. We have prayed and prayed for this over the last few years. God is good.

On my way home I called her and she seemed really mad at me for taking off without her. I asked twice if she wanted me to pick her up on my way home. She said no which seemed blunt and meant to hurt my feelings. Once I parked and wasn’t quite out of the car Kodie our dog was talking to me about leaving her for too long.

Then my phone rang… guess what the question was? Are you home yet? When I said yes apparently she hadn’t noticed me go by she was shocked she had missed me. Here came the question. Can you pick me up? I even went so far to say what’s the word? She knew exactly the word I was looking for… please!

Okay I’ll be there in a minute.

The conversation made me feel better after our last one. She even helped me make Grandma’s unsweet tea. Then she proceeded to tell me she texted and Face-Timed with our cousin Marissa. That really warmed my heart after my conversation with Marissa the Sunday before. These two cousins had not seen each other in 6 months. They missed each other a lot.

When we got to Grandma Betty’s apartment both girls had their baby dolls. Something that had been planned the night before. Everyone was so happy to see our girls having fun together instead of missing the other one as it had been.

The cold weather didn’t matter. Our hearts were warm and we had another room full visiting with family and Grandma Betty. Exactly what Sunday Afternoons were made for family togetherness.
