Music is good for the soul. God created music to be used for worshiping Him. It’s also a way to relate with family nowadays.
Yesterday it was, for me and Selena, for certain. I have what now is an old CD. I am not certain the name of it only that the musician was Deena Carter. The song that comes to my mind after playing the CD repeatedly through my teenage years… is still there.
Selena came over and brought her surround sound music tools with her. Fortunately, most of these songs were old school for the most part. After some of our conversations she knows how I feel about curse words and some bad lyrics in music. So I couldn’t resist for old time sake to fall back into my own favorite melodies with her.
As soon as Strawberry Wine came on it was second nature for me to fall into the music. The look on her face when I even knew the lyrics maybe better than she did was a bit awesome. She gave me looks like you know this song. I didn’t say a word about how I don’t drink or wouldn’t drink and so forth, however, I believe I have had Strawberry Champagne at a cousin’s wedding. It did not taste like Strawberries to me at all, but that was the only time I would get a chance to try it.
It was nice to have this moment with my niece even though our friend Kenny was with us too. He was singing as well. I didn’t think I would remember the words as well as I did, but I got quite a few looks from a little girl that gave us a sweet memory to cherish.
