Maybe the word anxiousness is best used in this question. I know as a performer having butterflies meant that you were alert for the performance. Sometimes my butterflies were enormous. Several times though with God’s presence I had those performances that were pretty much perfect. I also had some screw-ups, but I always finished the song. I was always told things may happen, but it was about finishing the piece well.
So when things pile up in your life is stress an acute pain needed for a change? Or is the pain something you must persevere through until the solution resolves itself?
God mentioned the word fear hundreds of times in the Bible. He didn’t want us to fear. He wanted us to come to Him in prayer and to receive His peace in whatever made us anxious. He also said not to fear the things of tomorrow, for they will be here in time. One doesn’t know what tomorrow holds what we fear in many cases doesn’t happen as we think they could in the end. We really should heed Christ’s words more on this topic.
Reading this Jill Smith book about the first woman, Eve, has been such an intriguing reading experience. It always surprises me how I think I know a story and then a Christian author fleshes out some of their ideas. I hadn’t thought of their perspective and it highlighted the people of the Biblical account making them feel more human or modern sounding sometimes.
There was an exchange between Eve and Adam that I literally just had with Bryan. It was a bit surreal for Eve in her exchange with her husband and equally for me as to how accurate our conversations were. It was an unusual happening, but ironic as well.
