Devotional Thoughts

Thoughts on Eve

Fortunately, I have had some time to read some extra chapters recently. I admit reading about Eve and Adam’s travails after the horrendous decision was made due to a prostrate looking Lucifer. It was after the harrowing decision that God cursed all of the future in this species to be slithering reptiles. Yet for the first adams or the first couple our original parents had to deal with quite a loss.

They were created to not know sin once that bit was taken by both of them they could no longer live in the garden of Eden. The Cherubs kept a close guard of the entrance with their flaming swords. What a sight that would have been to see.

My gosh it’s like reading a page out of the many years of the pioneers going west. Eve and Adam both had to learn the different ways that nature could be used to help them in their daily lives. Who truly knows if it did indeed happen this way until we get to meet them in heaven, but wow it’s quite a story. As a woman eve had never had a menses until they were out of Eden and when she first gave birth to Cain. Of course she was always just a woman she didn’t go through puberty before childbirth. Doesn’t that just boggle your minds ladies!

This is just delving into the first 10 chapters, but it’s incredible to see a different fleshing out of these first two humans literally created by God and starting our world population. She didn’t know what to expect exactly after only watching animals give birth. When God cursed women to have birthing pains Eve was the only woman and she hadn’t yet conceived or had she when the Devil specifically took her to the Tree of Life. Could she have been pregnant and unknowingly the hunger of being pregnant took over her thinking? Is that a crazy thought for Ms. Smith to have had? To write this story based on the unknown fact of Eve being pregnant at the time of the decision; to sin against God with a piece of fruit from the Tree of Life?

It is neat to see this beginning of human history in a different light. Is it giving Eve a way of looking like the victim more? Is it a fair question to ask if she was pregnant?
