I’m not sure how my fascination with dolphins started. Maybe living in the pond as kids was part of it. I am sure I also wanted to be Ariel as a little girl as well, but fortunately I grew out of that phase. Dolphins are intelligent mammals, and have been playful as well as saved lives.
We were told we could possibly see dolphins play as our ferry was going back and forth. When we went to Ship Island several years ago I got to experience a ferry ride twice and it was such a fun experience. It would have been even more special if we had sighted one of those dolphins I eagerly awaited to see. Instead I have to be tortured by a younger cousin who got to feed dolphins a couple of years ago and play with them.
My security blanket has been a dolphin pillow that I gave up sleeping with as a teenager… I would still be sleeping with it if I thought it was a cool thing to do though.
