Still Working On My Room

Do you have problems holding on to things whatever they may be?

Apparently I do. Since the beginning of December I have been in stages cleaning out my room. I am being pretty darn detailed in this endeavor. Unlike other times… I am going deeper.

It’s not always easy to make some of these decisions. I have never lived anywhere else but college and I have accumulated a lot in the years since. Plus the things I have personally liberated from both my Grandparents houses have cut into my personal space around here. I am still grateful though… to have these memories and pieces of family history.

Now I just need my Mr. Right to finally make his way to me so we could be able to be together in our own place. It would be so fun to be able to make domestic decisions as a couple. We have made decisions but to do so without texting or devices involved would be nice.

Yesterday I was going through some stuff in my smaller closet next to my ledge in my hallway. All of this was stuffed into it and I decided to have fun with each one. There is some personal connection to each piece I am displaying.

The first is my suit jacket with the thin purple stripe. On my birthday I got confirmation I would be paging for my State Representative up at Indy. I was so excited we found this pant suit. I must have been 17 I don’t think I was a senior yet I’m not sure I may have to look at the scrapbook. The second photo shows the scarf one of my college roommates handmade for me for Christmas. It was so sweet and I remember she wanted to become a missionary to Japan.

The third photo is one of Grandma Rosemary’s floppy bucket hats this one is the black and the last one is the gray one. The gray one still had the ticket on it. I know Grandma wore hats but I don’t really remember seeing her wear them.

Cleaning through my stuff just reminds me how blessed my life has been. I have some amazing memories and gifts with some unique stories. Stories I don’t want to forget.
