Obviously my parents had a lot to do with my early years of life and were my influences. In the last decade I have done research into some of my favorite songs and films that surprised me.
Have you seen those little booklets from years ago and what the prices were all the details to that specific year? I remember buying those for Grandma and Grandpa Alsman.
Well I have looked for some information about the year 1985. However, before I did there were ideas in my mind from throughout the years that I thought were just really common songs I absolutely fell for or even movies. Now it seems really interesting to see there may have been some correlation besides the fact my uncles also loved 80s music and I was around them a lot.

The song “Power of Love” was one of those songs for me. I know I heard the Huey Lewis version but as a teenager I really went for the Celine Dion take. I loved anything with vocal aerobics and her songs surely did. The connection with the movie didn’t hit me until later when I started researching. Even Prince’s “Raspberry Beret” came from this year and has always been a favorite melody of mine.
What I find the most intriguing of my fact findings several years ago was the idea my passions were found in events that happened in my birth year. Did God purposefully allow me to be born in a year that was musically rich and historically pivotal to not only American history but European and World history? Having my BS degree in Social Science as well as my love of music; this is what impressed me the most.
I will be sharing some different things this month about my Birthday and little facts here and there. Plus the cards I have found. What memories do you cherish about your birthday, month and year?
