Finger Fun

Some of these are just mine I will not part with there’s too much time into them and they are simply too pretty.

After nearly a year since I touched any needlepoint due to totally spending time typing… I need a bit of a change. I have decided I need to not only kill two birds with one stone, but take some time off a keyboard or device just a little bit every day again.

Growing up was fun! My cousins and I did so many fun things together without devices. It was the 1990s no kids had cell phones yet. We played outdoors like a monkey in our favorite tree playing Star Wars or swimming in the pond. When we were inside we played Chinese Checkers, Dominoes, Gin Rummy, and made all kinds of arts and crafts including our own plates to eat on.

Making things is just fun to do. The accomplishment of knowing I could do that or honing my skills in certain crafts has been especially lucrative over the years. I have made my own Christmas and Birthday gifts over the years. I may have needed Dad’s help with frames and glass for expertly framing the perfect piece for someone, but it was a lot of fun doing so.

Cross-Stitch for me has been a stress reducer. The routine of criss-crossing and knowing when I need to make a different stitch to compensate for going this direction is all in my head and in my fingers. It doesn’t really leave you once you learn how to do it, but practice does help to keep you from getting too rusty.

I am going to be working on one of my ‘Legendary Airplanes’, I finally found the plane it was put up thank goodness and in good shape. I was worried I had lost it. Apparently I have made all 6 of these and have given them all away as gifts. All but one; I had Dad make me a frame and this one is mine. As I prepare to start this piece I will show you what plane I will be working on and will show you progress as I go on. I have also been thinking of some tractors lately too.

One project though… at a time.
