Seeing other Grandpa’s and Granddaughters together is a big trigger for me. However, it doesn’t take much for me to have memories filter through my mind. Songs, phrases and even smells of food and fragrances bring them to the surface easily enough at times.
Nostalgia is incredible. It hits hard sometimes like mourning does. After losing both of my Grandpa’s going back to times before was difficult. I have heard so many times that musicians and artists show their emotions on their sleeves. That’s me for sure. Feeling pain the way we do helps us to articulate a message having felt such pain. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have this unique ability.
