It’s funny I know that my best made plans can come unglued due to the very nature of being in the Christmas moment. Some of my happy moments this week came from baking. Although the elocution of delivery was a little difficult.
Making these goodie platters has been fun but they have a purpose to say ‘Thank you’ to certain ladies and or couples that have been amazing this year. Or simply because we love them and it also gave us a chance to visit with them.
One in particular took me back 20 years to a distant memory. When we got to her home it all came back to me being with Grandpa Freddy for an auction. Honestly, I forgot about the auction part but Leona and Mom remembered that little detail. It was a heartwarming moment to remember a nearly forgotten time as a teenager. It was nice to converse with her and remember some fond memories of Fellowship together.
Unfortunately one of the sad parts of having a niece but not always getting her when we want her the most. We didn’t have her until tonight when we gave Gina her goodie platter this evening. It’s also funny how once my plans fail to watch God’s always better plan just seem to settle in with the little details. Selena just happened to call once Mom and I were discussing the delivery.
Nearly an hour and a half later we finally left her drive, but not before Gina’s dogs fell in love with me and Selena. It was too cute. It’s difficult to not pet a dog when they give you those eyes and before I knew it Gina said oh she’s giving you that look. Then the other little dog wanted some attention and was able to get Selena’s attention. I think we stayed as long as we did because the dogs decided we belonged to them.
This morning we had 4 young girls and they ate a majority of my chocolate cookies with peanut butter M&M’s and they had a Red Velvet Brownie.
