Star of Wonder Day 13

The Prophecy of Melchizedek

This morning being able to read this first thing, was such a refresher to my soul. This is the final day of the Prophecy Chapters. What do you know about this man and his big important sounding name? Honestly this story seemed lost to me on the major details. I have heard of the name and remember confusing the name with one of the Magi for a bit. He was also mentioned in Genesis the book where Methuselah was also mentioned another large name for the longest living man on earth.

So as you can see I was extremely interested to see what Ms. Hunt would have to say in this Chapter. Even historians don’t know everything and I have enough humility to admit that very fact.

I do love learning from real professionals though.

I do know the story of Abram’s nephew too well, Lot. The story of Sodom and Gomorrah the destruction of brimstone and fire. Plus the story of Lot and his hysterical daughters something that good Christian daughters have nightmares over. The fear of feeling and being desperate and not trusting in God’s will not exactly Tamar’s situation with her father-in-law. Yet Tamar is a part of Christ’s lineage due to her decisions of righteous indignation.

So the question would be what happened to Lot’s daughters? And their children?

A question to think about!

Melchizedek was the king of Salem and priest. David writes about him in the Psalms 110:1-4. Salem is to become Jerusalem and the king of Sodom is unnamed, but he does tempt Abram in Genesis 14:21. Then Abram responds in verses 22-23 that he accepts Melchizedek’s blessing only not the king of Sodom’s.

In the New Testament Book of Hebrews more is said of Melchizedek.

“Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life but made like Ben-Elohim, he remains a kohen for all time.

Ben-Elohim-son of God, kohen-priest

Hebrews 7 :1-3

Ms. Hunt had an interesting Family Activity about prophecies after the devotion. Prophets came and spoke of prophecy… yet we know there are false prophets. Do you know the difference between the two? It’s really about common sense. Look at the Bible it has a 100% authenticity rating. What was spoken has come to pass or it will. Nothing has as high of a rating for prophecies scripture is literally God’s-breath filling the very words.
