Trying to read over my experiences of the past year is a bit daunting. A lot of various events planned and otherwise have been overwhelming and underwhelming. The first of the year that comes to mind was making the decision to write more and sticking to it. The day I officially launched this website was big and emotional for me. It was a spontaneous decision.
Some of our family decisions for Grandma’s sake were difficult to make. Watching her decide to leave her home with some goading from us was not easy, but she’s not alone anymore. She can be alone when she wants or be with friends when she wants. Plus someone is almost always there out of our family nearly everyday. The fact that she is healthy and happy is the number one priority.
Finding some of my Grandparents gems has been a wonderful experience as well. Grandpa Lester and even Grandma and Grandpa’s Bibles have been so intriguing to read through. Plus not to forget Grandpa’s letters and Grandma’s Crane envelopes. I have learned quite a bit this year I didn’t know about them from this one bag of stuff.
Returning to my family Church; Fellowship was a really big surreal day for me. I have witnessed nearly 5 baptisms this year from this Church including cousins and one former student. It kind of makes me feel my age once again.
Unlike last year I had time to be at Selena’s Homecoming Parade this past October. Today I will be able to see her and her sisters Christmas Concert this afternoon. As I said last year work kept me away from both of these events. I haven’t been to a Concert in a couple of years due to not getting word of them in time from certain people. So today will be a treat.
After a long couple of years being a long-distance relationship I see a silver lining coming through. I still have no specifics and will not give them out if I could, but I feel more firm in knowing Bryan will be able to be here sooner than later. It will not be another year.
Goodness the articles that have made big splashes. I write these to make a difference in someone’s life, but never know what each one may do in any chain of events. Many articles this year have resonated in ways with splices of different audiences that I have been observing with statistics. Today is Pearl Harbor Day one could say this is where my journey started because I believe this is where Grandpa Leo had begun to make his enlistment decision. If not for him none of my decisions would matter.
