Exactly 82 years ago America was attacked by the Japanese. Very few people alive today remember that day. Grandma Betty told me she was in her home, the kitchen and she remembered how cold it was that day here in Indiana. She heard about it first over the radio that day. Of course I never got to ask Grandpa about that day.
When I was in high school I wrote letters to elected officials and Governor Frank O’Bannon was one of them. He died abruptly in 2003 I only remember because it was when I started at St. Mary of the Woods. I had a wonderful dorm room I would have loved if I had had it for more than 2 weeks. I can still remember the television with the news on it and seeing the breaking news. I still have that letter where he shared with me a memory of being a young boy that day.
Do you know about your loved ones that were alive at that time? Are you interested in knowing what they may remember?
Have you ever taken the time to read ‘A date which will live in infamy’ speech given by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt? We need to remember how Americans felt today all those years ago. Just like how we felt on September 11th my generation’s attack that we will never forget. Now our greatest allies Israel has endured another attack on their very existence. This attack is much different in scope and was much more barbaric.

We can’t forget these acts of terrorism. We also can’t let the enemy win with their propaganda. They already have a good head start on that unfortunately. The fact that donors are taking their money out of the Ivy League Schools is good, but maybe a bit too late. If the Congressional hearing this week showed us anything these Universities are cesspools for foreign funds to speak on American Campuses. There have to be other better colleges, perhaps not with the supposed name recognition of those schools but they have sold students out for decades. Our students need alternatives to these campuses of vile thoughts.
Can we stop the next attack that is bound to happen? With our campuses a mess and our borders porous there doesn’t seem to be a chance does there?
