My Spark for writing came back after a season of necessity. Five long months of healing and distraction have given me words again that I need to share and stories to bring smiles to faces even through the tears I had coming down my face first. Life keeps moving
though and I saw God working through my trials of healing everyday.
For a long time we had a routine with my niece. Then it seemed overnight someone else started making decisions leaving us out of my nieces, every other weekend time, with her. She likes being with Daddy so Friday was our night with her and then Saturday’s were and most of Sundays were with Daddy.
Lately we only got minutes with her period for an entire weekend. As I said someone else was making the decisions about our time with her. So we weren’t sure how this weekend was going to go. Somehow this morning when I mentioned to Selena I was going to make Potato Soup that reaction was amazing. I know she likes cheese and potatoes I didn’t think it would be enough to persuade her to come over tonight though.
Wow I was surprised when Dad came back over with two girls wanting to help make the soup.
I ended up having to sit at my temporary crafting table. Since we had a table full.
Walking the girls through my version of homemade potato soup was interesting this evening. They mostly followed my instructions and both were eager to eat what they helped prepare. It has been a little while since we’ve had it. If I don’t say so myself it was pretty good.
