Not long ago I gave an update on some developing work details just west of where I live. Sullivan County is our County Seat so we spend a decent amount of time there. Plus our Tire Guy is literally right next to this area that got pummeled at the southern end of the City.
Unfortunately the Huey Chopper from Vietnam was pretty much ruined for a second time. The first time being in Vietnam of course. Some exciting news is that the VFW will rebuild as some other buildings are starting to now. They were able to save a couple of the Posts insignia and their numbers which will go on their newest addition to the new building that will be finished in March. I didn’t hear if he said next year or 2025.
The sad part of this is that this representative said a Virginia Military Museum is closing up in order for his VFW Post Community and building to get this new machine. He didn’t go into specifics but it will be a Cobra Helicopter. I cannot wait to see this standing tall where the Huey was for so long. I am sure it will be emotional for many Veterans as well as us civilians who understand to a different degree.

This stand will not stay empty forever!
This surprise is a beautiful Christmas Present for the Veterans firstly, but also to the Sullivan Community.
