Thanksgiving is now over, but the Christmas sweets will be in full swing now. Are you ready, all of you sweet-tooths? It is sometimes ironic who actually becomes diabetic and who doesn’t within a family. A mom does have it like her mom did, but my dad doesn’t and neither did his parents.
Yet I do have aunts and uncles who have sugar problems while some who don’t. Dad loves making sweets, while I make them and can very easily forget about them I don’t eat sugary sweets that much normally. My achilles heel is sweet tea, like my daddy and the Bishop’s we all like our sweet tea.
Mom has seen two brothers diagnosed with diabetes. Each person is different in their diagnosis Uncle Mike also had some other issues to deal with sadly; but he was the baby of the family. You don’t expect the baby to be the first one to go of your kids.
There are certain foods that have been hard for my family to lose due to their health conditions. Uncle Mike hated giving up broccoli, Mom heard today bananas have quite a bit of sugar in them.
It’s a very good thing Dad doesn’t have sugar because I don’t think he could get rid of or reduce his sugar intake! Honestly as his daughter I would be the same.
