Today started out being kind of a lazy day until lunch time rolled around. Then it was mentioned that it was time to eat and there were two places in Sullivan we had in mind. Finally we decided on China Wok.
The Thanksgiving meal or the lazy feel must have been lurking around. Even at noon on the dot hardly anybody was inside. One other couple was there and one more came in soon after… but minutes from leaving people started coming in.
Usually it is left to me to pick up the fortune cookies. Everyone knows I will grab them anyway. I just find them fun and it’s one of the few things vanilla I like.

Last time we ate Chinese my niece literally got 2 cookies because there wasn’t a fortune in one of them. Today when I picked these up I didn’t realize 2 were stuck together until I got back to the table. No one else wanted the double so I took it. Some of these were actually right on for the ones who opened them. “The night life is for you” was my dad’s. He works the night shift so he had to laugh at that one. My younger brother James opened the one with the word “dictionary” in it. We were all left wondering about that one. Mom’s fortune seemed very deep.
My two also seemed to fit me. I love how that first one basically talks about history or even living history. The second one can have a couple meanings which makes it intriguing. Maybe possibly talking about being needed by a spouse or child at least that’s how I choose to understand it as.
Sometimes the fortune cookies are right on and sometimes they miss the mark. Trying to figure them out is the fun part of them.
Do you have this much fun with the Fortune Cookies?
