Once lunch was eaten I went into cleaning mode. Yesterday with the good weather we took advantage and let the dog out. In doing so we needed to clean and sweep the living room most especially.
Call it a winter cleaning I suppose. We also finally got some stuff off the floor and were able to decorate with them. We now have 3 Christmas trees put up. The white one was Grandma Rosie’s artwork.

There is still more to do around here and tomorrow I will have time to do the flowers. We are changing the flowers for the graves. We haven’t been able to get them changed since earlier this year. We like to mix the flowers up a couple of times if we can throughout the year.

These two trees are on a little cabinet my Dad made. In my grandparents house where it has always been against a wall I had never really given it a second thought. Then I heard Dad had maybe made it I knew I had to have it. At the same time Dad had said we didn’t need any more furniture from the house and I didn’t think there was a viable location for it to be placed. However, I was just as obstinate as Dad was and I won out in the end.
The light in the corner photo also came from the house. Dad couldn’t part with that light either if no one else wanted it in the family. I have many treasured memories of using that light for my cross-stitch and for many New Years Eve nights after Grandpa died. We were able to finally put this light where it needed to be while cleaning today. I actually had forgotten how to work it and had to play with it to remember.
We got a lot done today, but there is much more to do tomorrow.
