Lack of Cognizance… of History

I am still trying to digest these facts. Young Americans are believing that a terrorist can have something to say to Americans after what happened on September 11th by terrorists. What is not wrong with that statement! Talk about having scrambled eggs for brains.

Isn’t it amazing. Everyone who said the Germans should have done more during World War II and yes I was one of them when I was learning how it actually worked. Colleges and TikTok have used propaganda to create a lack of moral clarity and fundamental knowledge of history. Each time I hear of what the students are saying because of the association they have with a certain campus or some sort of social media post that is less than reputable like TikTok it’s extremely disappointing.

I wasn’t at Pearl Harbor, but I know it happened. I know many died with the surnames of Alsman and Bishop; I have specifically researched. The age of 13 and my Grandpa’s death really awakened me and I became a detective and historian; it became a passion for me to learn about what happened before I was born. Young people don’t seem to have that Aha moment like I did. Pearl Harbor was an infamous day and it is coming up very soon so I don’t want to get too nitty gritty right now, but my grandparents remembered that day well.

Just like I remember September 11th and the fact that 2 of my family members were unaccounted for for a long time before we got some relief. I had an Uncle who worked for Crane and had been to the Pentagon a lot for his job and I had a cousin who flew planes in the Army. I remember his parents were extremely on edge. Grandma and his mother were the same age but she was Grandma’s Aunt.

History is personal to me… the way I think it should be for all Americans who love freedom.

These new generations are missing something. Before 9/11 happened you could say my generation, the Millennials, were missing some experience we had lived in what our Founding Fathers wanted for this Nation freedom and abundance of blessings. However, I am certain not at the cost of losing what the true cost of losing freedom would be. My generation got a wake up call that morning when the Twin Towers were on our television screens that morning watching those devastating smoke clouds fall downward.

Bin Laden was a terrorist not a theologian don’t subscribe to the hatred he was selling then and still now nearly a decade later. Who could have thought we would have to actually say that to American kids. Especially 20 years of wars abroad having fathers and mothers serving overseas and knowing the truth about how they were fighting over there never mind the original reason of weapons of mass destruction which was actually the men and women maimed and killed from the years of fighting this war. That was the mass destruction in the end.

This is a problem of the destabilizing nuclear family. Grandparents and Parents are the key to what children digest intellectually. How did your family invest in you growing up?

How do we teach these younger Americans if they are already closed off to learning the truth?
