What’s the first impression you want to give people?-Writing Prompt

Sometimes the first impression is lackluster. I was afraid my week of waiting to say anything to Bryan was a bad first impression. I was truthful about what happened and he waited for a response he could not have known, for certain, would come.

There are times I spend time and energy for interviews hoping to have a wonderful first impression to get jobs. I got both jobs last year due to good first impressions… yet both of those opportunities frazzled up due to bad leadership from the interviewers.

The dichotomy between these situations amazes me. Bryan not knowing me gave me the benefit of the doubt for an entire week. Both of the women that interviewed me in different ways left me hanging in circumstances that they could have made better but chose not to.

There are times you simply cannot show the snapshot of what you want to show in one first impression. You can try and maybe become nervous over preparing for that moment, but do the best that you can and be honest about why you are possibly frazzled. I still made the right decision in all 3 cases because I learned a lot in all three impressions, but Bryan was by far the best response I made.
