Since the awful day of October 7th the news and social media has covered nonstop hate. You would think like after what happened at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania that it would be hate for the acts of terror perpetuated on that day. The hate has been for the actual victims themselves; the Nation of Israel.
Today after being forced to watch and observe dumb Americans and whoever is actually in these massive groups has been insulting. A slap to the face and even bone-chilling to see college students completely ignorant to their own familial heritage of being Americans and the longevity of our love and standing relationship with our greatest ally.
Where on earth do you get the opportunity to be dumb on the actual issue and be afforded the right as a citizen to peacefully protest? Isn’t it amazing to be an American Citizen and to be afforded that luxury today.
I have to almost smile when I think of myself as a teenager becoming the historian that I am. Learning about World War II, but always taking time to read books highlighting Biblical women from Angela Hunt, Jill Eileen Smith, Diana Wallis Taylor. My family was so important in taking us to Sunday School and Church talking about the Bible. Then After Grandpa Leo died a new world opened up to me with world history. Figuring out world history fit with Biblical history was awesome for me and college was an amazing time for my broadening horizons.
There were times when I thought why me, Lord?
The musician in me didn’t need to know history. Yet Grandpa died and so much happened so many questions went unanswered for so many years. However, Grandpa Freddy saw something in my uncertainty and knew I was trying to figure myself out and all these complex questions. He also helped me determine the musician and the historian complemented one another. I remember studying the 56 signers of the Declaration wanting to know their names and memorizing them along with the Presidents. Doing all of this stuff for fun outside of my regular high school papers and such. Something inside me told me I needed to read biographies of Franklin Roosevelt, JFK, Abigail Adams, Dietrich Bonhoeffer whatever I could get my hands on and especially Revolutionary War and World War II era; they were my topics, my specialties.
Now looking back on the library I have accumulated since I was a teenager I feel greatly blessed. The added enhancements of recent years due to family collections are more blessings. There are times I can’t help but think what would Miriam or Moses think about this or that. Thoughts just randomly come to mind perhaps after reading Mesu Andrew’s books about both siblings and their family so long ago. For me, Ancient history comes to life from this books and most especially from the Bible.
A book most of these young snotty-nosed American college students need to become familiar with once again. It’s not always leisurely reading material; it’s God’s breathed word through His prophets. No other book has been as accurate in prophecy becoming realized.
Hate is of the devil; God is of love. Today will show who is spewing vile hatred throughout the world and it’s not Israel. The victims of an attack do not cease-fire especially when the attackers have not stopped themselves.
