Israel At War

The Old Testament has centuries of life and war. Prominent names are mentioned that served in battle. The questions are what was in their heart and mind? Did they have ulterior motives for their service?

A photo of one Presentation I displayed some cross-stitch on this table too.

There were some framed bears titled Army, Navy Marine Corps, and Air Force. I may have had some Legendary Aircraft I also created on display. It’s an F4U Corsair I make them and usually give them as gifts. I’m not sure I still have this one. I also made a Spitfire, and a P40 Warhawk and the F4F Wildcat. There are 6 altogether and I enjoyed making every one of them.

The last time or two I presented a Veterans Day Program for the Church I added Biblical soldiers names to the lobby presentation and one time I did something else. For a while I had created with some assistance from the congregation help writing articles. Tom Cullison, a good friend and Veteran helped me find these Israeli soldiers. I have had some fun with this through the years.

History has produced many soldiers through the centuries. Many who are forgotten, Achilles, Hector of Troy was thought to be simply a dream until actual archaeological evidence was found of the city of Troy. Cyrus the Great, Queen Esther’s deceased father-in-law was known as a soldier. Here in America, these names are not well known they are not necessarily in chronological order.

There have been righteous wars and individuals sent on missions. Moses, Joshua and Caleb come to mind. Then there are Deborah and Barak, King Saul, King David, Samson, Uriah the Hittite, Jephtah, and Salman to name just a handful.

There are so many soldiers and leaders who served during Bible times. Israel has seen scary times all throughout history. They have a mission and they will succeed as their many ancestors have done previously in centuries past.
