Tuesday Morning is still unaccounted for in my published journal articles. An avalanche of colds took over and I lost my train of thought for a couple of weeks. Due to some road work GPS took us on some less direct roads taking us to Bedford, Indiana. My Aunt has lived there for quite a while now.
I have to admit once again I got carsick. I literally had to get out of the car and stand outside for a bit to see if some fresh air would settle my stomach. We ate at one of the highly performing Golden Corrals in the Country. My Aunt’s husband goes way back with the manager so he gets a table whenever he needs one apparently. Or at least that’s what we’ve heard. We have been there for Grandma once, but that’s been a while.
Everything once again was fabulous even the sweet tea hit the spot.

Granted it was difficult taking photos from a back seat!
The trip home was gorgeous with the fall colors really splendid. I tried to keep the window open while taking photos in order to take my mind off being carsick again. This time the road took us to Brother Deans Home in Linton, pretty much a stop on the way home anyway and for a belated birthday conversation.
Dean our retired minister just turned 100 and they were unable to make it to church for his shindig the Sunday before. So Dean to have a few moments with Dad before his ride took him to an appointment. The timing was still good though and the extra blessing was seeing Steve his driver. Steve’s family went to our church as well and we hadn’t seen him in a long time. It was good to see him and that Dean was all smiles.
They stayed longer in order to take in as much of my Dad’s presence as he could. Dad doesn’t get to visit them with us as much as he would like to so this visit was special for Dean. So then we spent, my goodness, another hour listening and talking to Diane Dean’s daughter. Dad said he had forgotten how funny she was to listen to and she was tickled pink at how the timing had worked out that day.
Talk about the perfect ending of a vacation having a church family conversation was exactly what we all needed that afternoon. To see the smiles on Dean and Diane’s smiles was beautiful.
