Earlier this year a violent tornado ravaged from Illinois through Indiana. It is not an evening or night I will forget anytime soon. The next day I literally had a full day of light-headedness and dizziness. Memories that are hard to forget that I had never experienced from winds the day after even.
Over the past few weeks my family and I have noticed very gingerly some changes are happening. The tornado happened on the last day of March on a Friday. It took a while for insurance purposes I am certain and to clean up the areas. Now we are in November and some big developments are being seen.
After knowing some of the families who lost homes and knowing the death of even one of my brothers former coworkers had happened life is slowly moving on for some of those able to do so.

As you can see dirt is being moved and equipment is in place. In the 2nd photo you see a flag. A Huey helicopter was stationed on top of that perfectly made stand for the Vietnam War area that stood guard over the parking for the VFW Hall. It was found in a field a few miles in the opposite direction the next day after the tornado.
The 3rd photo really shows how sorry looking the trees still look right up next to the highway going in and out of Sullivan. Yet they are moving onward and creating again whether it’s an organization, business or home.
It’s good to see life coming back into this area once again.
