Jewells of Thought

This is now my 2nd or 3rd attempt at this article. Due to conditions out of my control I was unable to publish this idea that’s been in my head for several years. I wanted to write this for my first blog and the timing was wrong. So now perhaps this is just God’s timing especially considering our allegiance to Israel and current events right now.

On one day several letters were penned to many different Patriots. While the topics of these letters were different; these were the writings of American Patriots readying the American Colonies to be a Nation separate from Great Britain.

Gosh I made this when I first got this extraordinarily large envelope in the mail. It came from a cousin who had become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she had to go back several generations in our family lineage of the Bishops and Harbins.

Yes I did absolutely have fun making this document.

My cousin sent this to me while I was in college after having talked to my Great-Aunt Dorothy. Finding this really cool family lineage paperwork was awesome. I can still remember that summer day I had been mowing around home and then was surprised to see the mail.

Then a couple of years ago in 2020 I found a record of this order dated on August 20, 1776. Thank goodness North Carolina has digitalized its colonial records. So I now have a copy of the official record of this order or letter from the Continental Congress of 1776.

Anytime you saw the Anthony Hinkle, that was my relation. I still find that incredible to know. According to my cousin’s paperwork and she was a cousin with a little bit of distance from me her 7th generation those alive during the Revolution are 4 couples. Only one couple is not definitively proven to be Patriots. Although her 8th generation ancestors may have been a mixture of Patriots and Tories. Somehow we only have rumors on them.

Like I said Anthony Hinkle was the one associated with this command given by the Delegation from the Continental Congress. In the 6th generation there are also two known soldiers. Our Family came over originally in the 1730s from Germany.

On the same day these orders were dispensed to my great-grandfather as a ‘waggoner’ and not yet an enlisted man until December 1, 1777. Three generations in one family serving during the Revolution for America. Talk about feeling the palpable heartbeat for American service and duty going back to the beginning of a nation. Benjamin Franklin also was thinking of how to usher in a duty-bound nation with God Almighty at the helm.

Benjamin Franklin was not exactly known as a church boy by any means. Yet he concocted by principle a scheme based on the bible for the newly formed idea of an American or United States seal. “Moses standing on the Shore, and extending his Hand over the Sea, thereby causing the same to overwhelm Pharoah who is sitting in an open Chariot, a Crown on his Head and a Sword in his hand. Rays from a Pillar of Fire in the Clouds reaching to Moses, to express that he acts by Command of the Deity.”

This was his proposal on this August 20th, but altogether three different men were thinking about this seal and how it should look. John Adams had an idea with Hercules which was not in the running. Although Thomas Jefferson’s idea was close in line with Franklin’s. He favored the idea of Moses and Pharoah as part of the emblem and also added an idea for the reverse of the seal. “Hengist and Horsa, the Saxon chiefs from whom we claim the honor of being descended and whose political principles and form of government we have assumed.”

I find this quite extraordinary that our Founding Fathers thought so highly of the Bible and of Moses to want to incorporate them into our American society. Principle meant something to these men and women of this period in time. The Nation of Israel was scattered among the nations not in their own state at this time. Without God’s word, the word breathed into existence by God Himself by His prophets we would not have the circumstances that created America. The Nation of Israel is a state because we took Genesis literally those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse…

We are intertwined with Israel. This proves how uneducated our students truly are in our colleges nationwide that they don’t know or grasp this information. The delusional students on campuses in this country parading around for Hamas is very degrading and demeaning to our Founding Fathers and Mothers.
