By the grace of God, I was able to watch live and listen to the roll call vote held today. I cannot tell you how nearly goose-bump awesome it was when I realized the vote was on and they were already into the ‘B’s and I heard only Johnson from Republicans. For the first time in a Speaker vote I didn’t hear other names being mentioned by the Republican outliers of the Conference.
Today was monumental.
If you get a chance go to you-tube and listen to our new Speaker of the House Speech. It was moving and brought both sides of the Chamber to stand together in solidarity at different times. Mike Johnson of Shreveport, Louisiana is the man for such a time we are in right now. Oh Lord, how we Thank You for this marvelous development today.
One day and one vote for this man and he got 220 over the majority number needed of 217; he was unanimously voted in.
After listening to this man on the subcommittee on the topic of Transitioning his questioning was spot on. I have enjoyed watching his preparation and having the knowledge to successfully question and analyze in his various committees. Plus today I have heard a lot of scripture brought up in his speech and in the outside speech to the media.
I am truly excited to see this man in action. We also need to pray for him I saw a photo of him I am not sure if it was before or after the vote of him on his knees praying.
