Jewells of Thought

Monday morning. I have already posted on how our first night was and nearly being thrown out of the bed. Plus that the bed felt stiff.

It was a rainy morning damp and wet. We got to the Park entrance and I got a good photo of the sign. Then we stopped at the gatehouse and no one was there on duty. We needed a map though so we stopped at the Inn and Dad said no one was there and she basically hinted that it was our lucky day on that note.

Now with the map on hand we looked for the hikes and where the falls were. There are actually several falls listed on the map. We went on the easier little trail to the observance tower.

All in all we actually finished 3 hikes. The trail to the observance tower was moderately rugged, the second one was easy except we missed a turn it wasn’t as apparent where the trail was. The last one Dad and I took by ourselves. Mom and James stayed at one of the benches while we got closer to both the Big Clifty Falls and the Little Clifty Falls.

Okay so Dad was the only one of us to up the observance tower. Since it was a rainy day my foot was already acting up the tower kind of scared me. However, I did make up for it later on. We are still somewhat paying for it in leg pains even today.
