Neighbors. Living out in the country our neighbors have been family… cousins essentially. Now we have some neighbors that aren’t related to us, yet one couple has another tie to us through the Pleasantville Church and my Grandma Betty. This question is a little bit to each his or her own. If not for my Grandparents, Fred and Rosemary two little boys may not have made it whether or not they were related, they were in the vicinity and able to get them to safety.
Of course I can’t speak to city life, I am a country girl at heart. Country neighbors help each other out. My Grandma Betty told me in an interview I had with her several years ago when Grandpa Leo and his siblings were young their neighbors would help his Mom take them all to Church at that very same Pleasantville Church back in the early 20’s, 30’s and possible even 40’s. Unfortunately my Great-Grandpa would only go to church for funerals if even, then. So Grandpa was in effect the male leader of the family getting his younger siblings to church and his mother with help from this neighboring family of Grace and her son Everett Enochs.
