Time is a matter of the beholder. When our Creator made His creation in 7 days how do we know they were 24 hour days? In fact 2 Peter 3:8 says that one day is like a thousand years. There have been 2,000 years of being in the ‘Last Days’ or even ‘Final Days’. I don’t like these phrases.
As a historian and as a Christian woman those phrases frustrate me. Christ says specifically don’t borrow worry from tomorrow. Those of us who have read the Gospels and Revelation know what is to come. We are to be in haste for those who are not saved; I am not worried for myself. It’s why I write about my experiences and how the Lord has worked in my life and my family.
Making the personal decision to let Christ into one’s heart is the best vaccination and only one to have to make their first class flight to heaven. Nothing else will save them from what will happen in the days after God’s saved have vanished from the earth that fateful day. People will be saved afterward, but they will have to live through absolute perilous times no one has ever or will ever see again.
So again, why do I still not like those specific phrases. I want to be the glass is half full kind of girl, I suppose. If we fear what is to come what does that say of our faith? The first Christians in who witnessed Christ’s death believed they were in the last days then in 3rd BC. Time is and will always be in God’s hands. This is why He never gave us a set time for His return. We are to rejoice in what He has given us and continue to do as Christ did before He was crucified. Speak truth and help those in need. Fear mongering over phrases irritates me; I grew up always knowing what was coming for the unsaved. I even remember watching what I believed to be gruesome films made by Christians to show how bad things in the world would become.
Honestly, things are bad, I know this still isn’t Babylon yet. I have read the Old Testament we are on the road to Babylon. However, they are still souls being saved and when that last one is… things will change. Depending on what side of the fence you are in it will be for the better. It doesn’t have to be something to fear you are in control of your decisions will you do so joyously as martyrs have done through the centuries?
This is what the world doesn’t understand you have a choice right now that choice is limited and will have restrictions after one future event. You can bypass the pain of all that and believe in Christ today and literally have a first class ticket to heaven on that amazing future day ahead of us!
