Well I was dead set against online dating. In His Time is more than just a song, God’s will and timing is always best. I simply wanted to wait on God’s timing for me. I was focused as a young girl, by Bible stories not wanting lust, intrigue or distractions to take away the education I knew I wanted.
However, before I knew it I was out of College with a degree taking over Mom’s duties with the farm while she was ill. Some Church friends talked me into eHarmony. It left me embarrassed and never wanting to do anything online whatsoever. The guy was supposed to be a preacher and only wanted to talk and not meet, yet he wanted to talk a lot. We were talking in the old Hobby Lobby in Terre Haute and I dumped him and hung up.
So what in the world happened to me on April 21, 2021… I don’t know? I think Bryan’s message was on my feed for a couple of days before I saw it. He messaged me on a Tuesday and I didn’t see it until Thursday. I didn’t mention this to anyone until Sunday afternoon at Grandma Betty’s. I finally told Mom. I knew this was absolutely crazy and I could get burned once again. This wasn’t on a dating system, and I had never talked to anyone on Telegram before; I twisted and turned over this decision.
Now we have been talking and connecting for 2 and a half years in just a week or so. I really have not changed my thoughts on online dating, but one would think I have or that I have lost my mind. After all I am not the kind of girl who wanted to find someone online like this finding a man on the coasts, either of them.
So what do you think have I changed or am I simply afraid to admit to it?
