This week has been quite a week. Watching current events have been jostling to say the least, especially in Congress. Averting a government shutdown should have been a high for the Republicans to float on for a while longer than we had.
Now we have three names for Speaker in the hat, Biden not caring about the 26 Acts he just waived to put up a flimsy 20 mile border that won’t stop anything. Plus for fun they say they will send back Venezuelans to their home country. The question is how do we know for sure this will happen. This is the administration slipping flights in the middle of the night to the interior of the country. They could very well show take off and they turn that plane right back around. There is absolutely no accountability for these clowns in this administration.
Most of the American people see through this too.
Chicagoans are not too thrilled at their new Major for the influx in their windy city. One lady even said that they were already getting scraps now the illegals were getting more than they were. We have not seen such anger thrown at the Democrat Major like this before. They are not happy with him, but they were the ones who voted him in. There was another viable choice.
As much it would be easy to say we told you so, these matters had to be felt by certain individuals in order for this change to happen. Perhaps this moment in time is when action is finally taken and a direction for law and order can be put together.
Goodness even Mayor Eric Adams finally found the way to the border and even to Mexico City. We didn’t think the Democrats could actually use a map or even their GPS for the longest time. However, it took them feeling intense pain to act. This is like children’s play. Only when someone gets hurt do they realize certain plans need to be in play before this and that happens. Yet before they don’t want to give in to any Republican idea because it’s their idea.
Our Country is nearly 250 years old, but the Democrats have become a party of intolerance. The very thing they preach they are all about. What happened to the adults in the room when 1776 was debated in Philadelphia or the Constitution in 1787-1789?
Yet I do believe Congress is in a better position because of what the Republicans did accomplish this year. Next week a spirited debate will be intriguing to see once again. Honestly, I like both Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan I am not certain about Kevin Hern, but we have a trifecta of candidates. I am leaning towards Jordan since he’s straightforward. Scalise is also been cleared by his doctor, but he is undergoing treatments for his blood cancer.
We shall see the decision the Republican Conference makes and pray they adhere and come together to get it done in a short time. The countdown on that CR is dwindling. I can’t get over how all of this still intrigues me. I thought about a Poli-Sci Major in College briefly and only changed twice more. Still knowing the classes I have gone through were instrumental in my life and ministry. I can’t really imagine myself going through with that major after all.

I just have to smile at how those experiences have molded my thinking and how Trump reawakened these thoughts and feelings as that teenager in high school thinking about my major, even 20 plus years later. God’s timing is mesmerizing.
