Two of the loudest voices I heard from Wednesday, before my Wi-Fi went out was a Former Speaker and a Fox Host.
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich has maybe a thing or two he could say having been in that position. However Kilmeade had some kind of chip on his shoulder with Rep Tim Burchett. Yet Newt called Gaetz a traitor, and astonishingly destructive and should be expelled. All 8 Republicans are being called exactly what the 20 were being called earlier this year when Congress was literally being renovated by these 20 individuals.
So the question is do we stay with the status quo as has been done or do we go against the grain in order to make substantive change for this Country?
Honestly I don’t know the answer.
America is not a nation that goes with the grain. We are a nation that stands out against the status quo. This is what is so darn infuriating about this week we don’t want our military without paychecks, while Congress just had 6 weeks off when they should have finished the appropriations bills.
Infighting, however should not be taking place among the Republican Conference. Steven Miller, who worked for Trump’s Administration says very succinctly, the Democrats are a unit and they vote with unity and with the purpose to win their vote at hand.
Why can’t the Republicans unite like that? Over the past 9 months a unity had been growing with the Committee hearings and uncovering the pertinent information that they have been bringing to the American public. Speaker McCarthy’s gavel was the reason this came together.
However, vacating the Speaker of the House this week brought two responses from Biden. The first thing I heard was snickering. The second thing was our funding for Ukraine could be stopped; he was downright fearful of that idea.
He should be very fearful of that very idea because of something else I heard. One of the Republican names that wasn’t allowed to be thrown out earlier this year is now out. Rep Jim Jordan is now allowing himself to be named as a candidate for Speaker. He has promised no more money to Ukraine. This man wants accountability attached to whatever is sent to Ukraine, but no more taxpayer money flowing to this European Country without major strings attached.
I do think McCarthy and the Senate Republicans should get some kudos for taking the $300 billion out of the CR last Saturday. I don’t think McConnell should get the kudos though, but the other Senators went above and beyond to pass that bill. Talk about the status quo the Senate delivered for our military.
Are you still trying to figure out all the nuances of this week cause I certainly am. I can’t be mad at Matt Gaetz or Speaker McCarthy because both have equally brought us great achievements this year.
We can’t give the Democrats another inch. This just reminds us how much we surely need to pray for our Leaders. Not to mention we never know what the bigger picture might be and what may be going on outside of our districts or jurisdiction whatever may be the case.
Also remember those 20 Republicans brought this ability to work as Congress again after a long time of not having this back and forth. Again why were they able to do so, because their Minority Leader worked tirelessly to gain ground back in the 2022 election. Then go even farther like the Tea Party earlier at the turn of the Century we have Republicans who were inspired to run because of Donald Trump.
The ultimate nonconformist of our lifetimes.
