One of my Uncle Mike’s favorite bands was Abba. Some of these hits are still timeless songs. I have enjoyed singing along with these melodies all my life, yet when Mamma Mia came out I didn’t watch any of them.
We got an intriguing opportunity to hear a group at Branson. They sang such an array of their hits and yet unsung works of Abba’s. It was fun and I don’t really remember anything I would know to critique them on. That was a fun vacation and hearing the music of Abba come to life on stage with some good talented artists was the goal of our trip.
Do you have a favorite Abba song? I know personally, how hard it is to have just one!
How do you pick one song? I simply can’t of course, Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Take A Chance On Me. These songs were among the soundtrack of my youth. Do you feel the same? They are such iconic songs for Americans especially ranging such different age groups and they weren’t from here. They were Swedish musicians. The tones of their voices made their sound unique and deliciously addictive.
Fernando, The Name of the Game, I hear deflections in all of the songs that remind me of another singer. A dearly departed Olivia Newton-John and she was apparently an Australian and British singer.
I also remember having Abba as one of the main music groups on our road trips. Music has a lot of memories for me… fond ones. It’s nice to hear a song and think of an Uncle who is gone yet the tune has me and my niece and everyone moving to the beat of the music.

There is nothing sweeter than having those amazing moments.
