What things give you energy?

This afternoon I sat on a couch for 2 hours plus. There’s no possible way of preparing for a viewing. However, knowing that my presence sitting next to my Grandma for the duration of that time gave me the energy to persevere the hundreds of friends and family we talked to the length of the entire afternoon.

Feeling my Grandma’s hand on mine as she Thanked me for taking care of her really tugged at my heart. There were so many people in line to talk to my Uncle, my cousins and my aunts and dad. I figured I was better off assisting Grandma while they could talk to the many people who came to speak and give them condolences. Plus those that knew me came directly to me for the most part or I got up if they came fairly close. Unless some aunt or cousin was able to take my seat. I didn’t want to leave her alone for very long at all.

Helping to watch her gave me a purpose, but it also gave me the ability to hear some of the stories that were being told to Grandma. This is what a loving family does; we support each other. Today was a beautiful, emotional day; I’m glad I was able to give Grandma the support she needed to keep energized to stay as long as she did 3 and a half hours was really good for her. Today once again showed us how beautiful my aunt was that so many people lined up and crowded the room to the door almost the whole time.

God gave me the energy and the idea to stay close to Grandma. She is a very determined lady and the comments she heard today were refreshing and energetic to her as well as to me.
