Parading Through Town

My niece was in a dancing group in the Homecoming Parade. She is a Laker and my brothers and I went to Dugger and were Bulldogs so it felt weird to be there in a way. I have never been to their Homecoming Parade before and most importantly last year I was working and missed it.

So I was informed I had to be there this time. The funny thing was how many different Church people we met. Even Grandma’s Sunday morning chauffeur was in the parade.

My brother, her dad actually got me this sucker that I am enjoying in this photo.

My brother right here just had his birthday so our supper was his ‘Birthday Dinner” tonight.

What an ending to quite a day. Eating at China Wok we literally had a full table half of us kids. When I got my handful of fortune cookies I only got 4 in my one hand. The girls took over the ones I had and had to send them to get more for the rest of our table.

I do like to eat them when they are fresh, but reading the fortunes is fun. Especially when there are kids around to ad lib what’s on the little papers or just completely make it up.

Tonight we watched this firecracker of a little boy take my nieces fortune as his own and completely make up his own version. It was so funny. He has an aversion to taking showers so that was exactly what he said his fortune said. I wish I could remember how he worded it, but everyone of us was laughing.

Again, laughter is sometimes the best medicine for us and after the past week a good hearty laugh was indeed necessary. Funny how God knows these things and allows for these little tidbits of joy.
