We celebrate differently than we did when I was a kid. Yet family is still at the core of our celebrations. The first big change in Christmas was when Grandpa Freddy died; then I became one of Grandma’s chief Elves. Then a change was made from Grandma Betty’s house to have most of our family dinners at her Church Fellowship Hall. It just starts with little moves and then before you know it it’s been a decade of doing it that way making it feel as natural as the other had been.
Our Celebrations also tend to center around Church like Homecomings, Weddings, Showers whether wedding or baby. Plus my family had to split our time between both sides which made it fun at times.
