The historian in me always wants to celebrate Veterans. One of my interviews will be the Feature for November. Although there are some different articles in mind there are some littler articles that will be posted as well.
Tonight I am reminded of some of my friends from Church. Interviewing those men was amazing. They are experiences I would never forget. I am watching a movie dealing with the Air Force, plus Grandpa Freddy learned to fly a plane from the GI Bill. I have some incredible photographs I have found of him in front of some planes. Those pictures are fantastic images.
This movie is very reminiscent of Top Gun and the new Maverick one. There is nothing more American than giving back to our Veterans. My first Veterans Program came together 2007 I have restructured them several times since then. I can’t describe how incredible it is to work on something so important for a Church Community to celebrate. This is where my journalism began in a need to curate my Grandpa’s story.
There are men in this initial Program that have now been gone that their family is also no longer at the Church for various reasons. I don’t want these men to be forgotten. They entrusted me with bits of their stories and their photos in uniform It’s my duty to remember them as long as I possibly can for their sacrifices on our behalf.
