What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?

I am not certain exactly. However, my boyfriend and I have both had in person dates before we met each other online. Yes he may have had a few more than me for certain, but that’s in our past. Really there was one very specific date in my mind and I remember feeling very inconsequential when his words and actions didn’t line up.

Somehow when we met even online it’s like God truly brought us together. I have never felt more connected to any other man like this. Nor have I ever felt as pursued, wanted and cherished by him. We have had to learn to give and take with each other because of our long-distance and we have made it work. This shy girl had a big problem with online dating and I made it very apparent with him.

Everything seemed like a red flag because it was all online. I had to force myself to be strong and bold and because of that he knows how I feel and even felt similar in ways. He also respected my assertions and we have a strong relationship I never thought I would have for an online couple.

Prayer has been my offense and my defense in this romance. Knowing that God is with me and prayer has lovingly wound us tighter and closer together past all of my initial skeptical thoughts has been calming. Red flags give us moments to make necessary decisions and to prepare for the outcomes of those decisions.

He also knows I am very much my father’s daughter and that I will be skeptical to some degree until we meet. I question everything I am also my Grandparents granddaughter as well. Yet even with this skepticism I cannot miss the fact that we have been good for each other in different ways. God has delivered us with this extremely difficult circumstance of distance and yet the beauty of discovering each other emotionally in ways people meeting in person would take years to find out.

‘It’s to each his or her own’ or ‘In the eye of the beholder’.
