Several books I have read have brought these emotions to the surface. There are some incredibly talented artisans of the written word. I have a personal library of them authors who can bring things out of the mundane and oblivious circumstances of life.
Right now I am completely enthralled in Sarah Sundin’s ‘”Until Leaves Fall in Paris”. This book is just one of the many remembrances I see of couples in love being unable to enjoy any of the benefits of being in love.
General History is layered with Romeo’s and Juliet’s, but they were able to touch and show affection. I am speaking of those real life love stories that had real life consequences to their love stories. Like my grandparents just starting to date before Grandpa Leo graduating and joining the Army. They were a part for over 2 years only able to exchange written letters.
Love is surprising, right!
We don’t choose who we will fall in love with what if it means in an
occupied war-torn country?
I have now experienced a long-distance relationship with various complications keeping us where we are due to a mix of unforeseen events. Neither of us are able to make headway in altering our circumstances as yet. I can totally relate to the couple in this book in ways I had never before thought I could in any way.

Love. Duty. War. Enemies. Sometimes what you want is the absolute last thing you can have due to these conflicting thoughts and ideas. There are enough stories about the real happenings of World War Two to know that loves were found and lost to the ravages of war and self-sacrifice.
This is also where I am grateful my Grandparents didn’t have to suffer longer than 2 years apart from each other. They had a lifetime together with 6 kids and twice-over grandchildren and great-grandchildren. My question is will I get my man in my home-state soon?
