There are some days that are just cemented into our memories… right? This date is only the newest day to add to the list like May 9, 1945 the last day of the German Theater, the Surrender of the Japanese of September 1945 and of course December 7, 1941.
World War dates stick in my mind easier for some reason. I am certain there’s no bias for why that would be except both my Grandpa’s lives have encouraged it from me. All of my grandparents experienced the attack on Pearl Harbor in different ways and at different ages. There was something about what the Preacher emphasized tonight in the message. How the Israelites back in Judges couldn’t seem to teach from one generation to another the importance of history and knowing what they truly knew of God from past generations.
This is the key education of our Biblical principles and how God has worked over and over and over and yet our minds seem fickle. For some reason our memory spans are very short. My generation knows absolutely nothing about December 7, 1941 and never will first hand. However, thankfully there are first hand accounts and videos that were taken. Even Hollywood has made some movies about it. Communication through our family generations and interactions is why my generation knows anything at all about that day decades ago.
We have to educate our beliefs to our loved ones if they are to be passed on to newer generations. Grandpa Freddy saw that I was ready to learn to be one of those people harnessed with the truth of scripture and a love of history. America’s children need to have a moral compass and they can only have that if the right people are in their lives to give it to them.
How do you know if you are the right one to give guidance in their lives?
Remembrance is the key that was missing in Jewish Families in the book of Judges. Biden’s Administrative team has referenced the idea that 22 years after Pearl Harbor American Presidents were not still visiting Hawaii. Does that register well to you? They believe it’s okay for an American President, although I don’t technically believe he is a legitimate President, to skip being at any one of the locations directly affected by the events of that day.
One of the women who had lost her husband 22 years ago brought back another thought. How many promised that this day and those who died would not be forgotten? Someone else mentioned on another show the lights on the towers used to be lit up for days before the Anniversary. Now it’s just for one day.
What does all of this tell us? Who wants us to forget and why? We as Americans cannot forget September 11th or Pearl Harbor either one of these horrific days in history. Unfortunately we made good on our promises for Pearl Harbor both wars in Germany and Japan were won. Yet Biden wants us to forget his flop. Don’t let him win, we are the majority after all.
