A few years ago I began to look for an online database for old newspapers. When I found this site it was awesome. I spent possibly too much time looking for various topics.
However, there was one main topic my Grandpa. This resource was amazing I got to find the actual papers that put him on the front page. He was a Sullivan County kid, but then lived in Greene County the rest of his life. That’s the funny thing my family has always lived between the county line between these two counties.
There is a difference though I found a lot more articles on Grandpa in the Sullivan papers, then after the war he was in the Linton papers more. Yet my Great-Grandpa Arla was in the Carlisle papers frequently. The Lester’s didn’t live that far from the Bishop’s, though they were both in the outskirts of Pleasantville.
Since I found this site I have a binder full of articles pertaining to all four of my Family branches.
