You never know how tough you can be until a trial brings you through something unimaginable. This was an ordinary day for me and ended up being an extraordinarily draining afternoon to bedtime. There are times we simply cannot prepare for what’s to come into our lives… yet we have to face them head on.
Touching those creepy crawly things was not on my agenda that day. Thank goodness God intervened and allowed my hero to be around close that day. It was such a blessing to know those things didn’t hurt anyone for however long they had possibly been in the house. If me being scared to death was the worst thing to happen from those confrontations that was a blessing.
Between God and the Zanax I was able to peacefully sleep that evening. When I awoke with all of the lights still on my memories resurfaced. Before I got out of the bed I looked over the floor very well before moving towards the kitchen and living room. Unfortunately for a very long time I did have nightmares, but within a few days I was able to turn the lights off and get back to my normal sleeping pattern whatever that was back then.
Two mannerisms came out of this for me. Stuff on the floor they hid around them so I have tried to keep the floor clear which has been more difficult lately with moving some things from both of my Grandparent’s houses. The second is lighting my little hallway. I get pretty paranoid when the light is out or I absentmindedly forget to turn the light on before I leave. When I know it’s going to be darker when I get back I try to remember to leave the light on.
I nearly touched that slimy snake thinking it was a belt. If I had actually seen what was on the floor I would have seen it was way too big and not a belt at all. It was too dark and there are at least two maybe 3 different light switches I can utilize for my hallway.
Although, I am certain if this would ever happen again it would be in a much different situation.
