Surely you have heard the idea that making goals and plans is why to make God laugh. There was nothing I was more sure of than having a career in music as a child and that I needed to have an education without any inconveniences getting in the way. Wow, I was naive and young. I had to drop out of college twice. Firstly, I picked the wrong school, and secondly my health, although I do think it was being heartsick. It wasn’t long after Grandpa Freddy died and I wasn’t being a college student not drinking or eating the right beverages or food.
Setting goals if they are not God’s goals will always fail. Experiencing some failures I see the necessity of listening to God’s will. The parable of the talents comes to mind in Matthew. When you don’t use the talents God gives you to use He will take them away, but if you are using them and doing well they can multiply. Just knowing common sense and what your abilities are can be the first steps.
I planned out my first blog the response was minimal one big article garnered 75 views. This blog in a fraction of the time literally began as a whim and so much more has happened because I prayed and listened to God’s will.
The question is whose will is leading your life and the successes in your life? Do those goals matter to God or more to your carnal nature?
