A Channel With Real Substance

There is a channel named, ‘Great American Family’. As a God-fearing woman the Hallmark Channel has crossed the line a bit too much in recent years for my taste. Many shows garnered my attention in the past couple of years from this new haven on my screen.

Not only has Candace Cameron Bure made this station her new home, but a few other names Daniel Lissing in a movie about Stars as well as others. Tonight, I watched “An Unlikely Angel”. Frankly, I was not prepared for what I was about to watch. It was a pleasant surprise how much of God was in this movie and the idea of learning from mistakes. Not that God will always give us a second chance though to make the right decisions it was a jarring but beautiful ending to this story.

This channel has pleasantly surprised me a few times, but I was in tears tonight. Love vexes me. I love my family, my niece, God and I have a real connection with a man I have never met; this story between this couple unnerved me from this show for a little bit. I am not naive I have definitely seen online dating go wrong. I have seen marriages where distance wasn’t a problem and divorce still happened. My brain strategizes every move I make and every move I see from him and don’t see from our texts.

Love. Why is it so simple and complex? Human nature of two different people with very different jobs and experiences. A couple only works well when they have God as their base and if they work together going in the same direction. Maybe I am a strategic anthropologist in some form. Always calculating others behaviors, by what I have read over the years and seen.

Love comes from God and He wants us to show love in the ways He has shown us in the Bible. There are so many examples of His love some can literally knock you down.

I recently made a reel saying I loved to time-travel. We do that every time we open our Bibles to read God’s word. God’s people have changed a lot through the centuries, but God’s word has substance like this movie did tonight!
