My Dad is 6 feet 2 or maybe 3 inches. He played in this sport during his school tenure and I have seen at least one article clipping Grandma saved with his photo in the paper. The only other players I know of in this sport are my female cousins. We played a lot of Horse growing up.
Maybe it is just an Indiana thing to do!
Obviously Basketball means a lot to Hoosiers men and women alike. Hoosiers, is a staple you have to know. If you do not know the names Coach Dale or Shooter be careful walking into certain greasy spoons throughout Indiana. I was a year old when this movie debuted. I was able to buy dad the Special Hoosier DVD Collector’s Edition when it came out. Our VHS had seen better days.
Honestly though it took a little while to see the theme until we were in the Purdue Building. The humongous basketball in the center of the court was hard to miss. Not to mention the 30 plus painted basketballs in the far right corner of the building.
What I loved about all of this was that equally the Indiana Woman athletes were focused on as well as the men. We have had some pretty tall women in the sport here in our mid-western state of the Country.
Still it was awesome to see that they got it right this time when they were planning this theme. Men and women are biologically different, especially with school age children this cannot be forgotten or manipulated. This time in their lives depends on routines from their parents not agendas from other people involving themselves in third party ways.
The kids definitely had fun with all the basketball courts.
